MakerPlot-J has a variety of meters for monitoring data with alarm features.

By right-clicking a meter for the pop-up, you may set a variety of parameters. The Data Source is what value to meter, such as [ain0] or [plot.ch0] (plot control.channel 0).
By double-clicking a meter you can turn its alarm on or off. When on, the Channel label will show as bright red or green to indicate an alarming or not. It will also trigger event code to run.
