In a series of articles for "Tool, Die & Stamping News", Matt Miller and Martin Hebel discussed low-cost data mining operation and developed this board and the StampPlot interface to connect to it.

  • Extract to a local directory, then open "start.htm".

 

Features:

  • Used for the counting of continual processes such as press strokes for data logging and retrieval.

  • Input for 12V proximity switch (open collector, NPN output).

  • Real time clock.

  • Capable of storing over 2000 time-stamped records in non-volatile memory (will be retained if power is lost).

  • Up to 4 thumbwheel switches for job identification.

  • High speed counter.

  • Connectivity locally or via the Internet.

  • Re-programmable by the savvy user.

  • LCD Display

  • BS2SX (Though standard BS2 version may be used for other applications).
  • Pocket Watch B
  • 256K Serial EEPROM
  • PAK VIIB Counter from www.awce.com
  • Two Parallel to Serial shift registers
  • Male and Female Serial Ports (interconnected with crossover)
  • Header for LED, proximity sensor, Serial LCD.
